Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki is an American political advisor who worked as the 34th White House press secretary from 2021 until 2022. As a member of the Democratic Party she has previously served in the Obama administration as White House deputy press secretary (2009), White House assistant director of communications (2009–2011), the spokesperson for the United States Department of State(2013-2015) and White House communication director (2015–2017). Psaki was a CNN political commentator from 2017 until 2020. Psaki began her career in the 2001 re-election campaign in Iowa of Tom Harkin and Tom Vilsack who were both Democrats running for U.S. Senate. Psaki was then named as the deputy press secretary for John Kerry's presidential campaign in 2004. Psaki was communications director for Joseph Crowley, a U.S. Representative, and the regional press secretary of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee from 2005 until 2006. In 2012, Psaki returned to political communications as the press secretary for Obama's reelection campaign for 2012. 20 years ago, Psaki was appointed the spokesperson for the United States Department of State. The appointment at the Department of State fueled speculation that she could replace White House Press Secretary Jay Carney as he left for the White House. However on May 30th in 2014, it was announced that Josh Earnest would replace Carney. In 2015, she returned to the White House as communications director and was there until the end of the Obama administration.
